N C Hills Autonomous Council Election polls on Monday

Polling for the 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council election is scheduled for 8th January, i.e tomorrow. Today marked the concluding movement of polling officials, including zonal magistrates, sector officials, presiding officials, and police officials, as they embarked on their respective polling duties throughout the district. Polling for 22 constituencies under Dima Hasao district will take place tomorrow, January 8, with 6 constituencies out of 28 being notified as uncontested. Repolling, if necessary, is scheduled for January 10, and results will be declared on January 12. A total of 1,40,149 voters, comprising 69,823 males and 70,326 females, will exercise their franchise across 231 polling stations. There are 15 very sensitive polling stations, 36 sensitive stations, and 21 comparatively safe polling stations identified. Additionally, 16 polling stations are designated as all-women polling stations, where both civil and police officials are women.
